Today I have decided to choose forgiveness

The story is a little bit different. This story takes place in Spain. A father and son had a fight over a conflict that could have been easily avoided if they had ignored it. The father, who was hurt by the incident, was very angry and did not forgive him, so the son left home and disappeared. The father did not think anything of it at the time. But after a while, the matter began to worry him and he began to search for his son’s safety.

After searching in various ways, after many months of trying, he found out that he lived in the same city; but he could not find out exactly where he was. When he found out that his son was alive and not far away, he wanted to forget all the trouble that had happened and forgive him. Since he could not find his son to do this, he decided to make one last attempt.
He published a message in a widely read newspaper in Madrid (Spain) that said, “My son Paco, since I have not forgiven you for all your past mistakes, please meet me at the door of the main office of this newspaper at six o’clock on Saturday. Your father who loves you.”

On the appointed day, this father went to the place he had arranged to meet his son, and he saw something strange. 800 young men named Paco, who wanted forgiveness from their father, had gathered at the door of that office, thinking that the message was sent to their father. The father, greatly surprised by what had happened, searched for his son among all the young men, kissed him, and took him home, saying, “Today I have decided to choose forgiveness.”

As long as there is social life, disagreements are inevitable. Those who have forgotten this secret are always focused on that disagreement. People who understand that what they focus on has a great impact on their future tend to focus on letting go of the past and moving forward, while others tend to remain in a “spirit of disagreement” and resentment. People who focus on holding on and accumulating things instead of forgiving and moving on from the past are not showing a positive attitude toward a better life.

Think of two flying creatures: a fly and a bee. A fly is attracted to garbage, bad-smelling, dead things, while a bee is attracted to clean, fresh, and living things. A fly is attracted to garbage.
