“Choose your battles wisely. Life is not measured by how many times you fight with others. Your happiness is not measured by the number of battles you win, but by the number of decisions you make to turn your attention to something better instead of fighting. Life is too short to waste on fighting. Choose only the most important battles and let the rest go.” – C. JoyBell C.

Who are you fighting against? What situation have you started a war against? Why did you start this war? To avoid being defeated? For revenge? Out of fear of losing? Have you heard the rumors?

You see, sometimes the wars we start are not important whether we win or lose. Sometimes they are wars in which we gain nothing but the feeling of victory. Sometimes we start a war that is not possible, and when we think we have lost, we open another battlefield because we believe that we must win the battle.

The consequences of an unnecessary war are many. Waste of emotions, waste of time, waste of money . . . waste! In addition, when we focus everything on an unnecessary war, we end up losing many of our friends. Because when we spend time fighting this and that unnecessary war, we are taking away from the time we could be spending on building friendships.

Remember that some people and situations are not worth fighting for.

Questions to ask before getting into a fight:

  1. Am I the one who has to fight this battle ?
  2. What motivates me for this fight ?
  3. What will I lose if I give up this fight ?
  4. What will I gain if I win this fight ?
  5. What damage will I suffer if I lose this fight ?
  6. What could I build if I diverted the time I spend on this fight to another constructive activity ?

Don’t fight over everything!!! Choose your battles wisely!!!
