I think it would be difficult to get the same answer if this question were asked to many people. Every person is unique in their own way. Therefore, everyone has a way of looking at things according to their knowledge, experience, inclinations, and desires.

Reading can give us pleasure, entertainment, knowledge, skills… as we choose. I think the most important thing is that reading is the ability to think. We can get the knowledge, skills, entertainment, and pleasure we mentioned above from other sources. But they cannot give us the ability to think.

Just like the eyes see, the ears hear, etc., the mind is the first thing that comes to us. So when we read, the memory switch is turned on.
It enters thoughts and creates other thoughts. Thinking is talking to the inner self! It is focusing on ourselves!

But reading is not about retaining and remembering everything you read or accepting everything. I think that retaining everything you read is like carrying a human burden. How is carrying a human thought different from carrying a thought? Rather, it is about taking a thought and thinking about it, reflecting on it, and generating ideas. According to a recent study, as our ability to think increases, the electrical current in our brain increases, making it completely bright (therefore, our difference is in its brightness and clarity, sometimes even completely disappearing). Another thing is that our perception increases, our imagination is called upon.

Now, communication is lost because everyone is carrying someone else’s thoughts. But there are also those who do not know exactly what they are carrying. Even if they know, they are in the right realm of the mind. Isn’t that why the father said in his proverb, “Human gold does not shine”? Let’s break the yoke of our minds. Let’s get rid of other people’s thoughts and create our own. The solution to this is books!

Only the stomach can accept what is given. The mind can never be a stomach. Without any influence, it chooses what suits it and leaves what does not suit it. Then a new idea is born.

Finally, let me add one point. One candle does not lose its light by lighting another. We lose nothing when we give knowledge and ideas.
